Wolf 3D for PS3 and Xbox 360

After all these years, id Software's classic first-person shooter, Wolfenstein 3D, is going to be playable on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

The reason for this is probably to promote Wolfenstein, the fourth game that is set to come out later this year, also to PS3, Xbox 360, as well as the PC, thank Atom. Think about what a slap in the face it would be if it didn’t, since Wolfenstein 3D’s first stop was the PC, back in 1992.

Wolfenstein 3D was also open-sourced and released on the iPhone this week.

On the Circuit:12 Rounds

Oh joy, today is the day that the movie 12 Rounds is released in the USA. It’s yet another movie with a WWE star in it, in this case, John Cena, with WWE producing it. We all remember The Marine, you know. It seems very few of these types of movies are actually any good, but you can trust the fans to go and see it.

The thing is that it's directed by Renny Harlin, who actually has some good movies under his belt, like Mindhunters and The Long Kiss Goodnight. The fact that there aren't any well known stars in it besides Cena probably means that it will be average at best though.

There are ads all over local TV that state that SA will get a chance to see 12 Rounds in about a week's time.

Apocalypse Then: Soldier of Fortune

On this day, in 2000, Soldier of Fortune was released. It was noted for its excessive violence, and it was arguably the best in the series, as the sequel, Soldier of Fortune: Double Helix, was good but very buggy. Then of course there’s Soldier of Fortune: Payback, the third game, which was released last year and turned out to be some piece of junk cash-in title.

Never Stop Nagging!

NAG magazine, previously known as New Age Gaming, has turned 11! I've been an avid reader of the mag since about January 1999.

Their website, http://nag.tidemedia.co.za/, has also received an overhaul as of late to celebrate the occasion.
