Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Days Box Art, Available for Pre-order

kaneandlynch The box art for Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days has been released [see the image to the right], and it’s being hailed as one of the most original box arts of the year so far. That’s one thing it’s done right so far.

The design reflects the game’s content and art direction. See under the number 2, the Chinese writing, and the pixelated look overall which is similar to the look of the actual game, like what you’ll find on a low quality user-uploaded video on YouTube or some other site, or perhaps on a picture that hasn’t loaded fully on a slow internet connection.

In addition to this, the game is now available for preorder. The game will release on August 24, 2010 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

Jamie Foxx to Star in Kane& Lynch Movie… as Lynch?

We all know that Bruce Willis is set to star as Adam “Kane’ Marcus in Kane& Lynch: The Movie, which is said to start filming in August, about the same time that the sequel to the original game, Kane& Lynch 2: Dog Days, will be released.

Now it’s been revealed that another star has been cast for the film. And it’s not who you thought it would be. Not by a mile. There were always three choices for the role of Lynch, if he was to be played in a movie: John Malkovich, Billy Bob Thornton, and Peter Stormare. All of those would have been excellent choices, I’m sure.

But who did they go with? Jamie Foxx.

I’m not being racist [I’m a misanthropist – I hate everyone], but I’m sure you’ve noticed that there’s one major thing that’s different between Lynch and Foxx. Come on, just have a look.

All I can say is that they will have to do a reverse makeover on pretty-boy Foxx before he can look the part. They’ll have to shave most of his hair off, and straighten what’s left of it out, make him wear glasses, and lighten his complexion… at least. Maybe that’ll scare him off and the role can go to someone else. Few people will make that sort of sacrifice for a role.

Oh, and like some have mentioned: an ethnic man having the name “Lynch” is sure to have some people up in arms. If you don’t know why, then take a history lesson or search around with google.

Kane& Lynch 2: Dog Days Release Date Confirmed, new Trailer

kl2b Recently, Square Enix revealed a release date for IO Interactive’s Kane& Lynch: Dog Days. In North America, it’s set for an August 24 release, and August 27 in Europe.

The game will be available simultaneously for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, can has singleplayer and multiplayer.

Also, a new trailer was released for the game just yesterday.

AAA: This new game is being developed by the guys behind the acclaimed Hitman series, and not Eidos, who screwed up the first game in a major way – not just with the development, but also with some scandal involving reviews and such.

The new art direction, which hopes to make the game look more like something off of YouTube, should be interesting to say the least. It’s about time that a game tried to capitalise on popular culture in this fashion, since we know how big social media is. It’ll likely make the game look crappy – but that’s the point. For once, the emphasis definitely won’t be on how amazingly gorgeous the graphics are. Not that it looks that bad, anyway.

Video Game Deals at Amazon: Kane& Lynch 2, Left 4 Dead GOTY

My brother is so looking forward to one of the games featured here, and that would be Kane& Lynch 2: Dog Days. He says that Bruce Willis could take either role in the movie: Kane or Lynch. Maybe they should do that, somehow…

Anyway, the yet to be released Kane& Lynch 2 is available on PC with $10 or 20% off. Other good deals include Left 4 Dead GOTY with 33% off (also $10), WWE Legends of Wrestlemania for  Xbox 360 and PS3, SAW, Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition, and some others.

These deals have been scouted on Amazon via Nowinstock.net, and accumulated over the past few days. I don’t like to do one each day unless there are many deals. I don’t bother if there are just two or three, usually, unless they’re really good games.

Bruce Willis to Star in Kane& Lynch Film, More Video Game Film Adaptations Coming

Kane& Lynch was awful according to most, and underrated to others. I mainly watched my brother play the game a long time ago, and I wasn't too impressed.

Well, the Kane& Lynch movie has been a project in existence for quite a while apparently, but it's only due to start filming next year. Bruce Willis is set to star as Adam "Kane" Marcus. Bruce Willis, who is famous no doubt for his Die Hard movies probably above everything else, has commented that the script for the movie is one of the best he's ever read for an action film.

"After Bruce Willis read it, he called it one of the best action scripts he’s ever read, and Bruce is an expert in terms of action scripts because he’s read everything over the last 20 years."

Okay, so Bruce Willis is probably one of the best action stars that you can get in Hollywood. He may be old, and bald, but the guy's a legend, looks the part, and he'd likely do the part some justice, even though most video game adaptations aren't good...at all.

Now people are talking about who will star as Lynch. I've got my money on Peter Stormare, like others have said. Or maybe Brad Pitt would star alongside Willis again, like in 12 Monkeys. He didn't do a bad psycho...

The Kane& Lynch film is only one of several Eidos games that producer Adrian Askarieh (who some are calling the new Uwe Boll), has on the go. Simon Crane is going to direct the film by the way, and Lionsgate will be the distributor.

There's also plans for a new Hitman film, but possibly without Timothy Olyphant. I didn't really think he suited the role too much anyway. I saw him in a film the other day- with hair! He looked
way weird. Also, the name Olyphant is uncool. It means "elephant" in English, translated from Afrikaans.

Right now, this Askarieh guy is working on a independently produced Just Cause film. I always thought that Antonia Banderas would probably be sought after for the lead role for that one,
