Chaos Computers’ Candy Store Competition

Chaos Candy Store Don’t you just love it when you get added to a company’s newsletter list without asking for it? Well, in this case I suppose I am kind of chuffed seeing as I received an email from Chaos Computers last week, telling me about a special competition that’s arrived just in time for Christmas.

This is their Candy Store Competition. Every day Chaos will send one of their “sweet deals” to everyone who has signed up to their newsletter. If you are on the newsletter mailing list as well as a member on their Facebook page, you qualify to win a grand prize, which is a Samsung Galaxy Tab.

So, sign up for the newsletter, like them on Facebook, receive the emails, and you may or may not choose to buy one of the specials, and automatically get entered into a competition to win a prize, even if you don’t buy anything!

ICPS3

Image courtesy of Incredible Connection Blog

Incredible Connection has a gaming survey up and running, and if you fill it in, you stand a chance of winning a PS3.

“We would like to get some ideas from you of how we can improve your gaming shopping experience in our stores and ensure that we are able to offer you the best choice of games, consoles and accessories. So not only do you stand a chance of winning a PS3, but you’ll be helping us to offer you a better gaming shopping experience, both in our stores and online.”

The survey ends at the end of the month – 30th of June, 2010. I’ve just filled it in, and it literally takes two or three minutes – not one of those usual surveys that you spend hours on.

Alan Wake Hampers June 2010 Competition

AW360 I saw something in the latest issue of NAG when I got it on Thursday, and that was an two page spread near the end of the magazine. I talked about a competition where you can win Alan Wake Hampers.

The first prize is a Collector’s Edition of Alan Wake, along with an Xbox 360 Elite, a Mini Mag torch, and some Halloween goodies like false vampire teeth and so on.

The 2nd and 3rd runners-up get the standard edition of Alan Wake for Xbox 360, and the Mini Mag torch.

I like the idea of the torch seeing as light plays quite a big role in the game from what I’ve seen. My brother has one of those torches – but the big one – and let me tell you could easily club some attacker over the head and they’d know about it.

To enter the competition, just SMS “light” sans quotes to 36560. SMSs cost R5. Winners will be notified via SMS, and the competition ends on Wednesday, the 30th June, 2010. Only people from SA can enter.

The competition is sponsored by wantitall.co.za

The Verge May Competition: Write a Review, Win Red Dead Redemption

The-Verge Monday night’s episode of The Verge saw Pippa Tshabalala announcing a new competition that would run, this time for more than two whole weeks, this month. Competitions used to be much more frequent, but not only was new a programming schedule for the show recently implemented, but a new format for competitions and prizes was instituted as well.

This competition involves those who wish to enter writing a review on any Rockstar developed game ever released. It could be any GTA title dating back to the first one, for instance. Write the review and post it on The Verge’s Facebook page. The competition end on May 28.

Red_Dead_Redemption

The prize for the winner is a copy of Rockstar’s latest and greatest Red Dead Redemption, which has seen very good review scores. One from Game Informer saw it score a lofty 9.75 out of 10.

Techno Times Competition: Win an XBOX 360 with GTA IV

GTAIV_Logo Yesterday was Freedom Day in SA, and the Cape Times failed to have the Techno Times insert inside. But today when I looked, there it was.

Sometimes the Techno Times doesn’t arrive because of holidays or else someone steals it out of my copy of the Cape Times. So I decided for those who don’t buy it or don’t have the TT, I would post this here.

Last week there was a competition for a PS3 with God of War III up for grabs. There’s a new competition offers up an Xbox 360 along with GTA IV for the winner. All of it’s worth R3000 in total. Quite an old game, but not a bad one at all, so I hear.

To enter all you have to do is SMS “XBOX” sans quotations to 34445. SMSs cost R2. The competition ends on May 7. Winners will be notified via phone.
