Do Incredible Connection’s Gaming Survey, Win a PS3

ICPS3

Image courtesy of Incredible Connection Blog

Incredible Connection has a gaming survey up and running, and if you fill it in, you stand a chance of winning a PS3.

“We would like to get some ideas from you of how we can improve your gaming shopping experience in our stores and ensure that we are able to offer you the best choice of games, consoles and accessories. So not only do you stand a chance of winning a PS3, but you’ll be helping us to offer you a better gaming shopping experience, both in our stores and online.”

The survey ends at the end of the month – 30th of June, 2010. I’ve just filled it in, and it literally takes two or three minutes – not one of those usual surveys that you spend hours on.

PS3 Greatest Hits and DualShock 3 Bundles Available on Amazon

51pbS3qBw8L._SL500_AA300_ For today’s deal post, I read about a bundle available on Amazon just lately. There are a few deals where you can get another DualShock 3 controller for your PS3, and with it you can get a game at a considerably reduced price.

For $60, you can get a DualShock 3 controller, plus any ONE of the following games: LittleBigPlanet: GOTY Edition, inFamous, Killzone 2, or Resistance 2.

Last year there was a bundle which included a DualShock 3 along with Uncharted. It’s still available, but at $80, instead of $60. And of course you get free shipping with these bundles too.

EA to Release Monopoly Streets, Other Monopoly Titles too

monopoly-streets

Do you remember Monopoly? That fun board game that we all played years ago which saw you moving round the board, passing go and not collecting $200? Arguing over this and that, and ending up in jail eventually, all the while seeing Mr. Monopoly smiling away – that top hat wearing dropkick.

EA Play announced that it’s working on Monopoly Streets, obviously based on the famous board game.

Chip Lange, EA’s Hasbro Division:

“We’re taking Hasbro’s No. 1 family game brand and masterfully striking the balance of offering the classic Monopoly play experience and adding a spectacular new visual treatment as we bring the classic board to life with players walking the streets of Monopoly.”

“Monopoly Streets will bring people together and connect families all over the world by offering online gameplay through their gaming consoles. We think this unique, combined offering will bring families together around the TV this holiday season for a classic family gaming tradition they’ll remember for years to come.”

Online rankings, leaderboards and downloadable content is said to be available soon for this title, which will release this year in “Fall”, for PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. In addition to this, a DS Monopoly title will also come out. I’ve also read that the game will be available through digital distribution for PC. A browser-based game is also in the works too for EA’s Pogo.

Singularity Release Confirmed for June, 2010

singularity Singularity is a game that might have come out last year if it hadn’t been for Modern Warfare 2, which Activision pushed majorly. Singularity was said to have been kept back until 2010.

After some delays and so on, they’re finally going committing to a release date, which is June 29, 2010, and Activision has confirmed that the game will ship for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 simultaneously.

Singularity is a game developed by Raven Software, but unlike some of their other titles, mainly id Software creations, like Quake 4, and Wolfenstein of last year that both received a lukewarm reception at best, this is an original title that looks pretty good from what I’ve seen. It involves using time to overcome obstacles and defeat enemies.

There’s also been a new trailer released for the game too.

Video Games Coming out This Week [April 18-24, 2010]: Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper

ShvJr

AAA’s Target of the Week: Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper

No major releases this week. Quite quiet actually, but after nearly a year, the Xbox 360 version of Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper is coming out. The PC version came out last year in May. And I’ve always been such a fan of the legend – and who isn’t? Jack the Ripper gets his own video game. That cements his legacy and popularity right there. There’s even a branch of science or investigation called Ripperology. Did you know that?

Apart from that, there isn’t much to see. Admittedly, I haven’t seen or heard of most of these games before. Sorry. Slow week, yeah. Awkward…

Available links go to game detail pages at retail and digital distribution outlets like Amazon and Steam, etc.

You can also check my Amazon aStore to see the latest and greatest games released this year so far.

Star Wars: Dark Forces Coming to the PS3 and PSP

Dark-Forcesr Star Wars: Dark Forces is a classic shooter that was released back in early 1995 for PC, Mac, and also the PlayStation in 1996 – although this port was disliked for some reasons like its poor framerate and graphics.

Star Wars: Dark Forces was really like Doom, but more technologically advanced, and featured the gruff Kyle Katarn as the playable character. I remember playing it for the first time years ago at a friend’s house.

Anyway, recently the ESRB “re-rated” [if that’s a word] Star Wars: Dark Forces for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable. And this means that the game will be releasing soon on PSN. The release date[s] however haven’t been confirmed.

Resident Evil 5 DLC and Gold Edition Coming Soon

screenshot252

At the moment I’m playing Resident Evil 5 on PC, so I found this interesting.

It looks as though in February and March there will be some DLC coming for the console versions of the game (Xbox 360, PS3). And on top of that, there will be a retail version called the "Gold Edition” or Resident Evil 5 Gold, which will bundle these DLC packs along with the original game, RE5. That will be coming in March too.

Unfortunately, as with most titles nowadays, neither the DLC packs nor the Gold Edition look like they’re coming to the PC – just consoles as usual.

Heavy Rain now has a Release Date

If it’s one thing that’s being talked about a lot, it’s Heavy Rain – a PS3 exclusive “video game”. David Cage, the director on the project, is in two minds over whether it should be labelled as a game or not. Of course those who have suggested it’s a collection of quick-time events were subsequently whacked on the quiet.

Graphically, the game looks quite impressive, but I don’t know about the gameplay. Maybe a bit slow-paced from what I’ve seen. Anyhow, I guess I’ll never know seeing as the game isn’t available on PC or Xbox 360.

Anyway, the game now has a release date: the 23rd of February in America, with other countries following on the 24th and the 26th, and it can be pre-ordered from Amazon.

Video Games Coming out This Week, 01/03 – 01/09, 2010: Borderlands: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, Bayonetta

image

Pick of the Week- Borderlands: Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot

This week, the first real, full-length week of 2010, sees the release of the second DLC pack for Borderlands, Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, for PS3. Gamespot also claims that the PC version will be this week, but there’s no official word, so not sure about this. Last week the Xbox 360 version came out. Seeing as Borderlands was such a massive hit last year, and was hailed as one of the most “original” games, then you’ll likely want to get a hold of this.

I’d say that the other major release this week is Bayonetta even though I certainly won’t be playing it (not that I could anyway). I’ve seen it, and besides Bayonetta having a nice derriere, she reminds me too much of Fiona Coyne in the SA version of The Weakest Link, and not to mention the soundtrack sounds rubbish. But to the game’s credit, it does seem to have some nice touches, like the hair and everything. Weird.

Links go to Amazon, etc.

Video Games Coming Out This Week, 13/12/09 – 19/12/09: Not much

Well, this week continues the dry spell we’ve been having so far. Not many big titles or anything that I’ve been looking forward to this year.

Seeing as this is more of a downloadable game’s week, I’m not searching and linking to all the game pages. In fact, I’m considering only doing this for highlights or else just certain titles on the list in future, as it’s too time-consuming.
