Medal of Honor: First Screenshots [Screenshots]

Some brand new screenshots have been released for Medal of Honor, the upcoming reboot of the series, set the come out in Q3 2010.

So what can we deduce by looking at the screenshots? Firstly, some of those shots look as though they’ve been spruced up a bit, and even if does look like that, most of us won’t play it looking like that. Some people are wondering if it’s the Frostbite engine, or the Unreal Engine 3. the singleplayer uses UE3, and the multiplayer, the Frostbite engine.

Possibly there will be undercover missions, which is to be expected of a Medal of Honor game. Looking at one of the shots, this appears to be the case, as two soldiers who looks as though they may be undercover, posing as terrorists, are possibly rescuing a hostage. They’re using typical American issue or non-terrorist weaponry and gear, from what I can see.

There will be vehicles in the game, like the ATV or quad bike, or four-wheeler (depending where you’re from). There might be a chance to use air support, like in Allied Assault.

Medal of Honor: The Selected Few – a mod for MoHAA

00326692 I read about this on N4G and Strategy Informer. This mod makes visual improvements to the ageing game, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault (from 2002) with some new textures and models.

Recently the 0.1 Beta version was released, which means what you see is only just a fraction of the work that still needs to be done. This is visible in the shots. Some of the redone uniforms look better (there are sleeveless shirts like the one in the screen to the right), but overall00326705 I felt underwhelmed.

It’s obviously still a work in progress, and a new mod at that, so it’ll hopefully get better with time. Don’t know if I’ll download it and try it myself, seeing as if it’s one game I played to death years ago, it was MoHAA. I especially liked the Omaha beach level, which was essentially the game’s version of the opening beach battle in Saving Private Ryan. Still cool though.

More Hints About new Medal of Honor Game

There have been rumours going around for the past year and a half or two about a new Medal of Honor game on the way. First piece is here, which was posted last year at BigDownload, and claimed of rumours that the new MoH game would follow suit after Call of Duty and venture in to the modern warfare genre.

The second piece is here, where EA actually talked about having plans for the game, but didn't reveal much besides that.

The latest piece I've read, is concerning a tip-off from superannuation, which pointed to a slideshow from Production Road. I thought upon clicking through, "What the hell is this?", but on page 7 of the slide show, I saw what all the fuss was about: an officially unannounced Medal of Honor game for multiple platforms, including PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. No PC! cry

I hope that little mistake is rectified.

The last MoH game I played in-depth was Allied Assault, even though there have been other titles after that in the series.

So I suppose the new title might come out in 2010 or 11.

What does AAA stand for?

It's not an abbreviation of anything. It just means the best of the best...
