Medal of Honor to Have a Demo, More Details

Medal of Honor (2) Just like some Medal of Honor games before it, the latest Medal of Honor, and the first one not set in World War II, will receive a demo somewhere down the line, available this year, but not specified whether it will be pre or post release.

Medal of Honor is scheduled to come out Q3 2010, for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

And as revealed before, the game will not only have you playing troops on the ground, but also in other positions, more like Call of Duty, and involve the entire army, and not just the small group of soldiers we’re used to.

Executive Producer Greg Goodrich to GameTrailers:

“This is the first Medal of Honor game not set in World War II. We are set in modern times with the fight that is currently taking place in Afghanistan.

We had a story we wanted to tell, and it was about what the soldiers are going through right now and the Tier 1 Operators we were introduced to – they brought a different flavor and have really come into their own in this fight.

So, we never sat down and said ‘Hey we want to be in Afghanistan, we want to be modern’, it was just a story we wanted to tell and these guys are pretty interesting. It’s compelling, and we also tell the story of the other side. The Sledgehammer, the big-military side and while you play lots of it as a Tier 1 Operator, you’re gonna have the opportunity to play as a US Army Ranger, as an attack helicopter pilot.”

New Medal of Honor Screens [Screenshots]

EA released a bunch of new screenshots the other day. These above are just the previews. The full size ones are over on their website, medalofhonor.com.

As for my usual analysis, the pictures show off the usual bunch of undercover Tier One operatives [we should come up with some names for them], and the desert environments again. I hope this game has a change of scenery, and this is only the first mission or something, otherwise it’s probably going to get a little stale.

The screens, which feature night missions, remind me a little bit of the first mission from Allied Assault, “Lighting the Torch”.

New Medal of Honor Screenshots [Screens]

Some people don’t like commentary to go with photos, claiming that it bores readers to death. But I love it!

Besides, I’ve read that it’s not good to have just pictures in a post, and that should at least have a few lines of text, as it’s better for SEO or search engine optimisation and all that stuff that I don’t understand too well.

Anyway, these are the new Medal of Honor screenshots released the other day. Let’s see what we have: there are two guys who I swear are undercover, because they look Middle Eastern, but are using US army issue gear and weapons – they feature in quite a few of the screenshots released for the game so far; we have some nice views of the deserts and rocky hills and mountains; some city streets and slums; the ATV or 4-wheeler which also features in Bad Company 2, but didn’t appear in Modern Warfare 2 (HA!); a helicopter – let’s hope you can fly it or at least shoot out of it; and some urban close quarters combat.

Onto related news: I read that a new trailer for Medal of Honor will be arriving on Friday. I’ve also gotten info from the main website that the game’s write-up and trailers and such are available on Xbox Live Marketplace.
