Lots of People Working on BioShock 2
And now for another franchise which may or may not get a film adaptation.
BioShock 2 has had many outside or external developers working on the project, and one of them is Arkane- the guys behind the beloved Arx Fatalis and the either-hated it-or-loved it Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (I liked it).
I wish they'd bring out a Dark Messiah 2 all ready.

Another Mortal Kombat Film
And now for a title that we're all familiar with- Mortal Kombat.
Just after the recent trouble over at Midway, the director of the next Mortal Kombat film has cried foul and wants compensation by suing Midway.
That has however, confirmed the rumours that have been circulating about a third Mortal Kombat film. Chris Casamassa, the actor who took the part of Scorpion in the original, has also said he will take the part in this film as well.
Apparently this Casamassa guy is an eighth dan black belt in Karate. I had a geography teacher who was only a sixth dan in Judo.
I suppose we're all wondering why they should bother with another MK film since the second one tanked, but it is an opportune time seeing as Midway is practically gone as far as I know, bought by Warner Bros. and the continuation of the video game series is unknown.

All Hail the King: Duke Nukem Returns?
So, I read this just now on duke4.net: on Scott Miller's facebook page, he stated apparently, "If you haven’t heard, he took a little break, but is back in the game now." And duke4.net got this from skewed& reviewed.
This was in reply to a question about now being able to add Duke Nukem as a friend. Somebody joked that Duke Nukem was too busy to join.
One has to wonder what exactly this means. There have been rumours that 3DR is still working on Duke Nukem Forever, partly confirmed by press releases, regardless of the legal trouble that they're facing nowadays.
It could also refer to the other Duke Nukem games coming to iPhone.
Or perhaps Scott Miller thinks he's Duke Nukem now, and he just came back from having lunch.
Anyway, some new screens, seemingly from DNF- a picture of the cycloid emporer and the battlelord, as well as two concept art pieces, have been released.

Identity Crisis: Modern Warfare 2...no, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Now for a title that has had a bit of trouble in the game-naming department.
First I read it was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, then Modern Warfare 2, and now it's back to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 again.
This is one of the major titles up for release this year that has had this problem. The others being Bioshock 2 (Sea of Dreams), and Operation Flashpoint (2): Dragon Rising.
And we're only barely halfway through the year.
Speaking of which, because of the need to get CoD: MW 2 out this year (09-10-11), Singularity is being pushed back to next year.

Command& Conquer 4 now Confirmed Officially...Officially
Now for a game that will be available on PC, but probably not on consoles, as is tradition with most RTS games- Command& Conquer 4.
It's been officially confirmed after that slip on twitter the other day, and it's going to be released next year. There have been some screens released, and more details on the game will be out later this month.
As you can see, the title is to the right- a subtitle coming soon. At least it's better looking than Thi4f.

Alien Breed Remake on the way
Speaking of old classics, Team 17 is remaking Alien Breed, with a title called Alien Breed Evolution, and it's powered by Unreal Engine 3. Unfortunately, it looks at this point as though it won't be available on PC, at least initially, but we'll see.

Bethesda Releases Daggerfall as Freeware
With Bethesda being so busy nowadays, it's good to see that they had the time to get one of their old games, The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, out and make it free to download, as a way to celebrate the 15th anniversary of The Elder Scrolls. Arena is also available as freeware- that was done back in 2004, on the tenth anniversary.
Is it too much to hope that on the twentieth one, that Morrowind becomes freeware?
If you're not familiar with The Elder Scrolls series, Daggerfall is the sequel to Arena, and was followed by Morrowind and Oblivion.
Still not familiar? Shame on you.
It's a 148 MB download, and is provided "as is" apparently, so you'll need DOSbox, an emulator, to play it. DOSbox has full support for Daggerfall, so no problems there.

Command& Conquer 4 now Official, but Still Sort of "Secret"
Yesterday I spoke of how rumours spread about a possible Syphon Filter 5. Well, after the survey that took place a while back, it has now "accidentally" slipped out on, yes you guessed it, Twitter, that Command& Conquer 4 is in development.
I'm sure we all knew this anyway. Why else would they have had that survey last month?
EA is certainly churning out the C&C stuff lately. Think of the eight year gap between RA 2 and RA 3, and the significantly shorter gap between C&C 3 and the announcement of C&C 4.

Syphon Filter 5 Rumours
Lately on computerandvideogames.com, there were two posts, one claiming that a Syphon Filter 5 and Socom 4 are in development. After that, that statement was retracted after claims of an "error" on PCB Productions' part.
But it seems to be a trend- sites put these titles up, people spot them, they're reported by gaming news sites and blogs, then they're taken down because they are meant to be confidential. It happened with Dead Space 2 after all, among others.

Did Altair from Assassin’s Creed rip off Michael Jackson?
Some people have suggested recently that Ezio from Assassin’s Creed 2 looks like a backup dancer for Prince.
Now I have looked at a picture of Michael Jackson on the front page of the Sunday Times this past weekend, and I couldn’t help but think- that looks like Altair, or rather, Altair looks like Michael Jackson.
Take a look at this picture. Look the grey trousers, and the white shirt, and then take a peek at Altair. Then look at the BOOTS!
