Metal Gear Solid: Rising Box Art, Details – Solid Snake MIA

Here is the leaked box art for Metal Gear Solid: Rising – a game that is meant to arrive sometime this year. It first cropped up on Xbox Live Marketplace reportedly, but was soon pulled.

The game will put the player in the boots of Raiden, the protagonist from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. And guess what else? It’s coming to the PC! This will be the first game since MGS 2 to do so.

In related news: Snake? Snake! SNAAAKKEE! That’s a famous line from Metal Gear Solid if you didn’t know. Why I put it there is that Metal Gear Solid: Rising may very well not feature the famous hero from previous games.

David Hayter, who gives the character his gruff raspy voice in the English version of the games since MGS, said that he hasn’t yet been contacted to do any voice work in the game.

"I don't know if I'm doing Metal Gear Rising. Nobody's contacted me about it, so I have no idea. They usually call me once the Japanese game is done and they're starting to get into the English translation. So we're not completely done, but it's on its way by the time they get in touch with me."

The game is said to be shown at E3, with more details to come.

Saw II Video Game Coming, Coming to the PC, Maybe

The first Saw movie was quite chilling. Unfortunately it ended up being milked for everything it was worth as sequel after sequel came out, and it even ended up getting parodied in the Scary Movie series by the moronic Wayans brothers.

Then last year the series got its first video game, which was available for PC via digital download. I haven’t played it, but it apparently did well enough to warrant a sequel, arriving this year, named Saw II.

The game is set to be released for PS3 and Xbox 360, but there is supposedly a possibility of another PC release. The game is being developed by Zombie Studios, as was the prequel, and it will be published by Konami. Saw II is set between the second and third movie, story-wise, although some reports say it’s between the first and second.

Bloody hell.

Konami says:

"all-new stomach-twisting traps and puzzles, more visceral combat, and an all-new storyline that takes place between the second and third movie."

New Silent Hill Game Could be Coming to PC, Could be a Remake of Silent Hill 2

The next Silent Hill title will be revealed at E3 in June, but until then, details about the game say that the game will be developed by Vatra Games, and that the title is part of a major franchise and will be published for the PC as well as other platforms, to be released in Q1 2011.

Other rumours suggest that this new, yet to be titled, Silent Hill game could be a remake or “re-imagining” of Silent Hill 2, which has angered some fans of the series, who regard it as a classic, and claim that that it would be like trying to do a modern remake of a classic horror film. And we know how those end up.

Answer: rubbish.

But it may not be so far-fetched, even though little more than a rumour at this point, seeing as Shattered Memories was a remake of the original Silent Hill.

Six Days in Fallujah… Breach [News]

                             “The wall’s been breached!” Lame.

That’s what I saw when I first read the headlines on the internet. Now you know how it feels. I thought that the troubled game known as Six Days in Fallujah had been leaked onto the internet and it was being downloaded en masse via torrent portals.

No, it turns out that it’s not that sort of breach. It’s their new title, called Breach. It appears to be a multiplayer shooter for multiple platforms. All that’s known about the game is that it involves the CIA – something which I think more games need to tap in to [and risk getting abducted and/or assassinated]. The Special Activities Division, or S.A.D. is a part of the CIA that’s been mentioned.

Section of the Press Release:

"Atomic Games, a pioneer in covert action simulations and military action games, today announced the development of Breach™, a multiplayer title for consoles and personal computers.

The game features so you've managed to decode this section to reveal the classified information. Come on! Did you really think it was going to be that easy? Right.

Their other title, Six Days in Fallujah, is reportedly completed, but Atomic Games has yet to secure a publisher to actually get the game out there.
