It’s a long way off until Doom 4 will ever see the light of day, seeing as Rage – the title that id is currently working on – will only arrive next year as it is.
Still, there were those who probably wondered whether Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails fame would be working on Doom 4 as far as sound and music goes.
The answer it turns out, is “No”. Apparently he said that he doesn’t have the time to work on the game.
"I haven't been contacted by them and find it unlikely that I would have time at this point."
Trent previously worked on the music in Quake, and also did some work on Doom 3 that didn’t even make it into the final version of the game.
