X-Com Games Week at GamersGate

Last week was Stalker Week over at GamersGate, but this week sees some classic PC games that are on sale. You can get both for under $3.00 each.

X–Com: UFO Defence, also known as UFO: Enemy Unknown, the very first title in the series, as well as the sequel, X–Com Terror from the Deep are featured as games of the week. Both titles are from the mid 90’s, and fall under one of the most popular TBS, or turn-based strategy, series of the time and perhaps all time. In fact a lot regard the original as one of the best video games ever.

So get them while the deal’s on.

It’s STALKER Week over at GamersGate

466x109_stalkerweek

I saw this over on GamersGate’s Twitter account.

This week is S.T.A.L.K.E.R. week over at the digital distribution service. You can get S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl for less than $10, saving you 50%; S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky for $3.98, saving you 60%; and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat for $20.96, saving you 50%. The loyalty edition of CoP is $9.97, saving you 30%.

If you haven’t ever played the series, then don’t miss out on this offer. I’ve played each of these titles, and even though the games are flawed and sometimes buggy, the atmosphere experienced in each title makes this series one to play, even if not as commercially successful as other games in its genre.

Sega Classics Coming to PC Through Digital Distribution in June

ga

The Sega Genesis is regarded as one of the ultimate classics when it comes to gaming, and recently Sega has said that a number of the greatest hits to appear on the console are going to make an appearance soon on digital distribution outlets like Steam, and probably others too, like Direct2Drive.

One of these games will be Golden Axe. Hell, I remember playing that game a lot years ago. Others include Ecco The Dolphin, Sonic 3D Blast and Comix Zone – I remember that one too!

The PC versions of these games will arrive in early June this year [June the 1st actually], and will sell for as low as $2.99 each.

Direct2Drive Best of Indie Volume 3

Braid

Direct2Drive has done a couple of these deals before with Indie games.

This time in Volume 3, you can get Braid, Osmos, World of Goo, Cogs, Machinaruim, The Maw, Crayon Physics Deluxe, Aaaaa!, Puzzlegeddon, and Gish for $29.95.

“The Best of Indie Bundle – Volume 3 combines 10 previous finalists (and some winners!) from past Independent Games Festivals (IGF). The Independent Games Festival celebrates the best games from the indie development community, so you know these are the best of the best!!! Pick up the bundle now for $29.95 – that’s a savings of $105.55 if you were to purchase each of these games on their own.”

That’s a saving of $134.50 or so according to Big D, but $105.55 if D2D is to be believed. So you pay about 22% of the total price in this deal, or 78% off, if my calculations are correct.

The deal expires on the 12th of March, 2010.

New Affiliate: Direct2Drive

I figured I'd let anyone and everyone who comes across the site know that AAA is now an affiliate of Direct2Drive! So that means there will now be links and banners that lead to D2D's site, and of course I will try to notify you of any deals on games or other stuff on there.

If you haven't heard of Direct2Drive, it's a digital distribution service, which means you can download stuff straight to your harddrive. I believe that digital distribution is the future of sales, and companies with a dependency on secondhand product sales won't last forever unless they change their ways.

Here's the official copy for more info:

Direct2Drive offers the largest selection of downloadable PC games and digital entertainment for the gamer lifestyle. You don’t have to drive to the store - just download the exact retail versions of the hottest new PC game titles as well as a huge catalog of classics you won’t find anywhere else! We also offer game strategy guides from PRIMA and BRADYGAMES, downloadable PDF
editions of Play Magazine’s Girls of Gaming and more!

There are a couple of new banners at the top and to the right of the page, so have a look.

What does AAA stand for?

It's not an abbreviation of anything. It just means the best of the best...
