Dark Void Zero Coming to the PC and iPhone

DarkVoidZero Dark Void was released for the PC earlier on this year, but also had a spin-off title called Dark Void Zero which was for the Nintendo DS only. But now it’s been revealed by Capcom that Dark Void Zero will be making its way to the iPhone as well as the PC, soon to be available on Steam – the digital distribution giant.

The game is set to come out on April 12, 2010, and the pricing for the games is said to be $3 for the iPhone version, and $5 for the PC version. Cheap, but then the game is a retro 8-bit styled title, and those who have played it said it’s most enjoyable, while Dark Void, it’s bigger brother, hasn’t done so well.

And although it won’t arrive at the same time, there are rumours that Xbox Live and PSN, for the Xbox 360 and PS3 [possibly PSP as well], might get the game too.

March Issue of NAG Magazine out This Thursday

The long awaited last Thursday of the month is looming, and we all know what that means: the new NAG will be in stores!

Included in this issue is a hands-on with the Command and Conquer 4: Tiberian Twilight multiplayer beta, and Heavy Rain, which is out today for the PS3, by the way. Reviews include Mass Effect 2 (playing it right now – epic game), Darksiders (everyone’s raving about this one), Army of Two: The 40th Day and Dark Void (got mixed reactions). Also advertised on the somewhat uninspired and unusual cover is something about an “uber, must-have guide to everything awesome” in 2010.

You’ll be pleased to know that this issue won’t have sand in it like the February issue did. In case you didn’t know, that was a marketing stunt that backfired pretty badly. The issue was themed around sand, you see. It was actually dubbed “The Sand Issue”, but the sand deposited in the plastic bag ended up getting in to the DVD packaging, and some people couldn’t even play the DVD, because it got scratched. They should have at least put the sand in a little bag or something.

As for the DVD’s contents, highlights include a Dark Void demo, and two demos centred around zombies, Zombie Driver and Zombilution, seeing as NAG is Zombie-mad, as is most of the world right now. There’s also the new Gamemaker 8, a 2D Half-Life game, as well as the usual hundreds of trailers and stuff.
Anyway, there’s no mention of this issue featuring two DVDs. I think it’s still under consideration and a result will probably come in later this year. The last time I checked, the poll on the NAG website was leaning more towards “Yes, give us another DVD!”.

On that note, if you haven’t yet done it for some reason, the time for your vote is coming to an end, as the 24th of February, which is tomorrow, and the day before the new issue comes out, is the last day that you can vote on this issue of whether you want another DVD bundled with the NAG, complete with a R10 price increase.

The short version: SMS “YES” or “NO” to 32541

Check here and here for more details on voting.

Dark Void Soundtrack Coming on 9th of February

Dark Void may have been a game that received mixed reviews, but the soundtrack is coming soon, on the 9th of next month. The music is composed by Bear McCreary (reminds me Bear Grylls, but it’s not), and it was the first game that he ever scored, according to Bear himself. Bear goes into detail about the OST on his blog.

I've tried to find a tracklist, but all I know is it’s about 80 minutes long in total, and includes a bonus track, “Theme from Dark Void”.

You can pick it up at Amazon.

Video Games Coming out This Week – 01.17 – 01.23, 2010: Dark Void

Yet another week with not much out that I really want. The rage this week for most people though, is Dark Void. Reviews for the game so far have been mixed. Another title that is yet again on the list is Twin Sector. I thought this was released last year, but no, Gamespot has it listed for this week. Don’t know what’s up with that. Reviews for that game have been poor, anyway.

Oh, well, I’m happy playing Resident Evil 5 anyway. I haven’t done a pick of the week for some time now. Nothing really that worthwhile out right now.

Links go to game detail pages at Amazon, etc., as usual.
