Rise of the Triad for iPhone Out, Extreme ROTT on the way

EROTT Last week, the big announcement from Apogee Software was that Rise of the Triad would be coming to the iPhone range, which include iPod Touch and iPad, among others. The iPhone port of the game is now out – released a few days ago.

But it doesn’t stop there, because if you buy the game, then you will get Extreme Rise of the Triad for free. Extreme Rise of the Triad was an expansion pack or add-on pack which added a lot more levels and so on.

This was naturally also available for the PC back in 1995, but later made freeware along with other add-ons and map packs, which are still available on 3D Realms’ website. EROTT also had other stuff like a random level generator, level editor, and other “goodies”, but I doubt all of that will feature in this iPhone release.

Hey by the way: did you know that the full version of ROTT, Rise of the Triad: Dark War, is nearly fifteen years old? This week in fact. The shareware version, The Hunt Begins, turned 15 last year in December.

What does AAA stand for?

It's not an abbreviation of anything. It just means the best of the best...
