Apocalypse Then: Area 51

On this day in gaming, in 2005, Area 51 was released.

Area 51 is a loose remake on the 1995 light gun video game of the same name, which was released in 1995. It features the voices of David Duchovny (X-Files, Evolution), Marilyn Manson, and Powers Boothe.

It is now available as freeware- made possible by the United States Air Force (not a joke).

Between the two games, in 1998, Area 51: Site 4, another light gun arcade game, came out.

The latest game in the series, after the 2005 remake, is Blacksite: Area 51, made by Midway, now in dire straights, financially.

What does AAA stand for?

It's not an abbreviation of anything. It just means the best of the best...
