Today, in 2001, Black& White was released. It was one of yet many games by the revered Lionhead Studios, with the quirky Peter Molyneux at its helm. And every game afterwards like Black & White: Creature Isle, Fable, Black &White 2, The Movies, and Fable 2 was also subject to a lot of hype.
