Alan Wake for PC Petition

Speaking of petitions, it seems that Alan Wake fans at www.alan-wake.de have undertaken a petition to get Microsoft to release the game on PC. Currently the game is set to be released only on Xbox 360.

The fate of the PC version was in doubt for some time, and eventually it was revealed that work on it had been cancelled.

An account on Twitter, remedyalerts, highlighted the effort, but VG247 discovered that the account did not belong to Remedy, but in fact another fan community at www.brightfalls.net.

Anyway, if you've got five minutes, go ahead and sign. I did. I always do- when it's for a good cause anyway. I really like the look of Alan Wake from what I've seen in the trailers.

Modern Warfare 2 Boycott

Speaking of L4D2, remember the L4D2 boycott? It has thousands of gamers who refuse to buy Valve's latest game in development when it comes out. It's up to 41,192 Members since June 1st, 2009.

Well, now there's a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 boycott as well. This boycott exists because of the ridiculously high price of not just the standard game, which is higher than the norm, but the special editions, the Prestige Edition in particular.

I reckon there should be a petition to get Infinity Ward or Activision to get the Prestige and Hardened Editions released on PC anytime now.

Claims of Racism Against Left 4 Dead 2

Lately there's been an accusation by a blogger that Left 4 Dead 2, or L4D2, is racist or contains racism, due to the fact that there are black zombies that must be gunned down, and is offensive in other ways because it takes place in New Orleans, the place which experienced the brunt of hurricane Katrina.

Now the last time I heard something like this was when someone else said that Resident Evil 5, another zombie-shooter, was racist because of a lot of black zombies.

That game was set in Africa, and it was just being demographically correct, in my opinion.

This is what they should do- make zombies grey. Make it so that they lose all the colour of their flesh because of some sort of pigmentation alteration. Then they aren't white, black, brown, yellow, or red and nobody can complain.

That's it- make them grey...and green.

Aliens vs Predator Coming Sooner Than Expected

And now for another game featuring two alien species battling it out with mankind stuck in the middle...Aliens vs Predator.

Originally, the game was said to be released "sometime in 2010" or "early 2010", but now it looks as though it might come in February next year. Great, just in time for my birthday!

It's also a great idea to wait until next year, seeing as there will be the Christmas rush soon towards the end of this year, with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 set to take the (Christmas) cake.

Now I wonder how long it will be before Aliens: Colonial Marines comes out, which was supposed to be out this year all ready if it wasn't for Aliens vs Predator.

StarCraft 2 Delayed into 2010

Well, StarCraft 2 has officially been delayed into 2010.

Couldn't say I didn't see it coming. The team say they need more time to perfect the game and make sure it's okay. They also say that Battle.net is to blame.

Funny- I thought that it had been outed that playing too much World of Warcraft was the culprit?

On this day in gaming, in 2002, Jagged Alliance 2: Gold Pack was released.

Jagged Alliance 2 happens to be one of my favourite games, and at the moment I still have Wildfire installed on my PC. I’ve played Jagged Alliance 2: Gold Pack recently as well.

The Gold Pack includes Jagged Alliance 2, Unfinished Business, as well as a basic scenario editor. The original Jagged Alliance 2 is patched to v1.10, and also comes with a number of improvements and changes. The game was originally released for PC, but the v1.13 mod for the game has seen it ported onto Linux.

You can pick up Jagged Alliance 2: Gold Pack if you want to play a classic. Otherwise you can also try the original Jagged Alliance 2, Unfinished Business or Wildfire, the standalone addons.

The Gold Pack It is also available from Steam and GameTap, digital distribution services. These versions contained bugs like infinite money and corrupted save games, but as of July 17, 2009, the various bugs appear to have been fixed.

I'm still going with the whole blogging game more than six months down the line now, and I have more blogs that I want to start up in future as well. I've also been on HubPages.com for nearly a year as well-I have two profiles there, and here.

Soon I hope to finally get on Twitter and perhaps Facebook or ning.com or something like that.

The Sims 3: World Adventures- the First of Many Expansions

Nobody is surprised that there is all ready a Sims 3 expansion coming- it's called World Adventures.

I am a little bewildered as to why they are bothering with a retail package- not that I wouldn't buy it, but I mean, I thought that they were going to carry on with addons via digital download off of the website.

I suppose not everyone has the internet or has broadband and so it makes sense to make it more convenient for those people.

But I'm sure that there will be additional content for those who buy the game expansion in stores, as people who purchase the game will receive free credits so spend online, just like with the original Sims 3.

This new expansion adds travelling to new cities which are meant to parody real-world locations like China, Egypt, and France. It's set for release on November 16th.
